2011 and after much uncertainty about the future things have settled down and the view is much clearer. The support we now have from the re-organised service is terrific. The amalgamation of the three services went ahead and has now settled down and the future of Retirement Associations seems to be holding firm... There is a lot of interest in the history of the Ambulance Service and this means that the display team will have the support it needs to allow it to continue. As I stated in a previous front page write up, the display team is a window into the history of the service and, although at present it is primarily based on Surrey Ambulance Service, there is now reason why the other services cannot add their own contribution to the display and make it something that shows the history of the Service in the South East,. The Retirement Associations in the three counties will come together under the banner South East Coast Ambulance Retirement Associations while retaining their individual identities. This I am sure will give us a stronger organisation whose basic object is the welfare and support of our retired members as and when they need it. We hope that the support from the full time service that we are getting at the moment, continues and that the Retirement Association go from strength to strength.
