I have discovered, to my cost, that a good Virus checker is important if you surf the Web or just sit looking at and receiving emails.  I have also found that a Firewall is a must as well.

I recently had my system hacked by a very nice person who proceeded to destroy most of my files and programs by partitioning my hard drive. Needless to say I now have both items loaded.  

This page is for the benefit of all users of this site, it enables you to log directly into a free Virus Scan facility.  Even if you have a Virus Checker loaded it is still wise to have your drive{s} scanned every so often.  In the past I have run this scan and found that I had picked up a number of benign virus' which were easily removed.  It does show how easy it is to get infected and, or course, we don't always update our Virus Checkers as regularly as we should do we???
